The Medical Scholarship Fund proposal aims to support the inaugural class of the Amir School of Medicine, addressing critical challenges in Israel's healthcare system.
With only 3.3 practicing physicians per 100,000 population, below the OECD average, Israel faces a severe doctor shortage exacerbated by an aging medical workforce and unique demographic pressures.
The new medical school, set to open its doors in October 2025, will focus on cultivating homegrown talent to alleviate this shortage and meet the nation's growing healthcare needs.

Supporting Ethiopian-Israeli medical students with comprehensive financial aid is essential for their success.
Many come from families living below the poverty line, where the high cost of medical school is a significant barrier.
While student loans exist, the looming debt can discourage talented individuals from entering the field.
Once enrolled, the real challenge begins: managing the rigorous demands of medical school while also supporting themselves and their families.
Without solid financial backing, students may be forced to take on additional work, potentially dividing their attention or even causing them to drop out of the program.
By covering both tuition and living expenses, we enable these students to concentrate solely on becoming the skilled, compassionate doctors Israel desperately needs.

The University of Haifa’s new School of Medicine aims to address the severe physician shortage in Israel, particularly in the north. The school plans to revolutionize medical education with a focus on AI-driven and regenerative medicine, aligning with modern healthcare trends like comprehensive care through community facilities and remote services.
Central to this vision is The Simulation and Innovation Center, which provides immersive clinical experiences to enhance learning and patient care. The Center’s hands-on training replicates real-life scenarios, fostering confidence, competence, and decision-making skills in a controlled environment, preparing physicians effectively for patient care complexities.
