With over 10,000 years of continuous human activity, Israel’s coastline is home to the world’s richest and most extensive maritime and cultural heritage.
Now facing serious threats from climate change and coastal development, this historic setting urgently requires protection and systematic documentation before these “treasures” are irretrievably lost to erosion and human activities.
The establishment of the first-ever National Center for Marine Archaeology represents a critical intervention to safeguard these invaluable archaeological resources for future generations.

Children who stutter often face challenges related to self-esteem, communication, and overall quality of life.

These difficulties often have a direct impact on their social interactions, academic performance, and future opportunities.

Without proper support and intervention, children who stutter may struggle to reach their full potential and face ongoing obstacles in their personal and professional lives.

To address these challenges, the University of Haifa is excited to establish the Haifa Dream. Speak. Live. – a summer camp which is directly informed and inspired by the Arthur M. Blank Center for Stuttering's CARE Model™.

This model has been developed and refined through extensive research and clinical experience.

Blank’s proven method has been successfully applied in multiple countries over the past two decades.

The Medical Scholarship Fund proposal aims to support the inaugural class of the Amir School of Medicine, addressing critical challenges in Israel's healthcare system.

With only 3.3 practicing physicians per 100,000 population, below the OECD average, Israel faces a severe doctor shortage exacerbated by an aging medical workforce and unique demographic pressures.

The new medical school, set to open its doors in October 2025, will focus on cultivating homegrown talent to alleviate this shortage and meet the nation's growing healthcare needs.

Supporting Ethiopian-Israeli medical students with comprehensive financial aid is essential for their success.

Many come from families living below the poverty line, where the high cost of medical school is a significant barrier.

While student loans exist, the looming debt can discourage talented individuals from entering the field.

Once enrolled, the real challenge begins: managing the rigorous demands of medical school while also supporting themselves and their families.

Without solid financial backing, students may be forced to take on additional work, potentially dividing their attention or even causing them to drop out of the program.

By covering both tuition and living expenses, we enable these students to concentrate solely on becoming the skilled, compassionate doctors Israel desperately needs.

Drawing from the rich tapestry of history and culture embodied by the Indian Jewish communities, the University of Haifa's "LILA" project stands as a beacon of scholarly and cultural enlightenment. LILA is a Sanskrit term signifying the "Divine Play." The name's allusion to ‘Divine Play’ offers insight into the extraordinary endurance of Jewish identity within communities that have remained isolated from major Jewish centers for over two millennia. Among these, the Indian Jewish communities — Bene Israel, Cochini, Baghdadi, and Bene Menashe — stand out as a distinctive element of the global Jewish diaspora. Thriving amid India's vibrant diversity, these groups represent a facet of Jewish life that, despite its rich legacy, remains relatively unknown in the broader world.

In the wake of the Gaza conflict and the surge of antisemitism across the globe, many young Jewish adults have been grappling with complex questions about their Jewish identities. What does it mean to be Jewish in the 21st century? What are the core elements that unite the Jewish people? Are ancient Jewish texts still relevant today? What role does a distinct Jewish identity play in a world that is becoming increasingly multicultural? Today, the details of Jewish culture, history, and heritage are no longer seen as peripheral, but as essential to comprehending our increasingly turbulent world.

This pivotal moment presents an extraordinary opportunity to launch the new Jewish Identity Program at the University of Haifa. Currently, in order to conduct something that approximates the needed detailed and integrative behavioral/physiological/neurobiological study, our researchers need to rely on an awkward and unwieldy series of traditional behavioral mazes together with antiquated scientific monitoring tools. While this cumbersome and complicated way of running experiments has already confirmed the need for the shift towards a more integrative approach to behavioral/physiological/neurobiological studies, our current equipment limits our potential to move forward, and to lead in the field of animal models of brain disorders.
The MulBeSys system (behavioral microscope and monitoring system) will enable continuous, in-vivo analysis of activity and habitual behavior, social interaction, emotional behavior, cognitive performance, metabolism, physiology, and optoegenetic/electrophysiology in the social context of the animals. Such an automated, integrative, automated multi-arena system for rodents will allow our internationally recognized researchers to make a quantum leap in terms of our research and lead to a paradigm shift in translational brain disorder research.
